Making a bike is more than manufacturing…
The ability to manufacture high-quality components is not straightforward, but it’s only the start. The development cycle is also critical to Works Racing so that we can be proud of the parts we make
Developed for a race meeting
This isn’t just about testing for durability or quality. This is about usability. To explain, it’s about how you use the parts. Imagine you’re at a race track and you want to change the gearing, but you don’t have long to do it. The last thing you need are fiddly components with a multitude of different bolt sizes that slow you down and frustrate. Works Racing aims to make parts that are a joy to work with.
Usability
Secondly, usability is about how you use the bike when racing. If you can make the bike consistent and approachable, you will go faster, and, just as importantly, you will enjoy riding more. The cam profile, combustion shape, exhaust and inlet have all been developed to work together, giving you, the rider, a direct connection between the throttle and what you want the bike to do. The same applies to the front brake, which is powerful yet with great feel. Years of development and refinement, not just to be fast but also usable.
